Azerbaijani weightlifter Ravin Alimammadov has become the winner of the European Championship held in Durres, Albania. Sport24.az reports that the athlete, competing in the 79 kg weight category, managed to lift 151 kg in the snatch.
Alimammadov, who lifted 189 kg overhead in the clean and jerk, showed a total result of 340 kg.
Thus, the national team member, who won a bronze medal in the snatch and a gold medal in the clean and jerk, also became the winner of the European Championship in the total.
Our representative also set a competition record in the clean and jerk and in the total.
The medalists were presented with medals by Firdovsi Umudov, a member of the "Advisory Group" of the International Weightlifting Federation and Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation (AAF), and Azer Alizade, the AAF representative at the European Championship, the president of the "Goyazan" club.
