Idman.biz reports that the retro car rally is organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation, and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
"Peking to Paris Motors Challenge" is a real test for the automotive legends of the 20th century and their crews. In 37 days, participants will travel 14,500 kilometers through 12 countries. The race started on May 17 at the Great Wall of China and, passing through the territories of China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan, has already reached Azerbaijan.
Car enthusiasts were able to closely observe these rare retro cars at an exhibition held in the Seaside National Park, in front of the "Seven Beauties" fountain. The event featured the rally's oldest participant, a 1917 American LaFrance Type 10, and the "youngest" car, a 1984 Toyota Hilux.
On June 9, the Azerbaijan stage of the race will start in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center. This stage will pass through Gobustan, Shamakhi, the Acinohur-Ceyranchol plain, and other fascinating regions of Azerbaijan, ending in the city of Gakh. 55 retro cars are participating in the race on the territory of Azerbaijan. On June 10, the participants will leave our country and continue their journey along interesting routes in Georgia and Turkey. Then, passing through Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, and Switzerland, they will head to France, the final destination of the race.
It should be noted that the "Peking to Paris" car rally first took place in 1907, and this is the second time in the history of the race that it passes through the territory of Azerbaijan.
