“In the match against MOİK, my players carried out the tasks I gave them in the first half, and I was satisfied with their performance. In the second half, we slowed down the pace of the game a bit and relied on counter-attacks.” These were the words of Ramiz Mammadov, head coach of “Karvan-Yevlax”, in a statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced expert commented on the match in which his team lost to MOİK (2:1) in the 6th round of the First League:
“I don't want to complain about the referees. I thank Rahim Hasanova. In the games against “Sabail” and “Gencebasar”, I was not that dissatisfied with the refereeing. But in this match, one episode surprised me. The shot we took hit the opponent’s hand from a distance of 3 meters, but no penalty was awarded. On the other hand, when the ball accidentally hit the player’s hand from close range, 1 meter from our goal, the representative of justice showed the “dot”. The difference between these two episodes remained incomprehensible to us. The turning point of the match was precisely those decisions. After that, the players got nervous, had difficulty settling into the game, and our plans were disrupted. Such moments have a serious impact on the course of the match. Our main goal is to become champions and return to the Premier League. We will continue our struggle to reach this goal. Our plan does not change, we continue on our way”.
It is worth noting that the regional representative is in 5th place with 10 points after 6 rounds in the First League.
