"Barcelona" has reached an agreement to extend midfielder Mark Bernal's contract until 2031. Sport24.az, citing insider Nicolò Schira, reports that the parties have agreed on all terms and the signing of the deal is expected in the coming days.
The 19-year-old footballer's current deal is valid until the summer of 2029. The new contract extends the cooperation period by another two seasons.
Bernal joined the "Barcelona" academy in the summer of 2014, at the age of seven. He went through all of the club's youth groups before joining the first team.
Mark made his debut for the first team on August 17, 2024, in a La Liga championship match against "Valencia". However, just ten days later he suffered a serious knee injury and was sidelined for over a year. He returned to the pitch in September of last year.
It is noted that the Spanish footballer has participated in 11 matches this season and provided 2 assist.
