Red Bull is in talks with four-time world champion Max Verstappen over a new long-term contract.
Sport.Biz reports this with reference to the German publication Bild.
According to the source, the Dutch driver's current contract runs until the end of 2028, but it has a clause that allows him to leave the team early at the end of the 2026 season. To keep Verstappen, Red Bull has offered him a new contract until the end of 2029 without an early termination option, as well as an increase in his base salary, which is currently around 65 million euros per year.
The offer was made to the driver and his management a few weeks ago. Although there has been no official response, the parties are continuing negotiations and are interested in future cooperation.
