British Formula 1 driver George Russell has repeatedly rejected contract extension offers from Mercedes.
Idman.biz reports with reference to Racingnews365 that this is due to Russell's desire to see progress in the offers.
"Russell has received numerous offers from Mercedes, but has rejected them each time. Taking into account the offers he has received so far, he wants to see progress in several areas. This concerns, for example, the duration of the contract, as well as the number of advertising days. After all, as a rule, the longer a driver stays in the team, the higher his salary should be and the shorter the advertising days, in order to maintain his concentration and form.
At the same time, everyone still understands that the contract extension is inevitable, because both sides have no other choice. Mercedes intends to keep 60 advertising days for Russell. However, the British driver wants this number to be further reduced," the article says.
