The career advancement of Davin Jafarov, a promising Azerbaijani teenage pilot who has achieved a number of international successes in karting, continues.
İdman.Biz reports that the young driver has completed his first official test session with a Formula-4 car at the Portimao track in Portugal, which is considered one of the most difficult racing tracks in the world.
Thanks to his successful performances in karting, Davin Jafarov was invited to the "Formula Winter Series" race, but could not participate in the championship due to unresolved sponsorship issues. However, he received an invitation to the "Formula-4" test session and experienced his first experience with a "Formula-4" car at the "Autodromo Internacional do Algarve" track.
The tests took place at the Portimao track, which has FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A status, with 15 technical turns and significant elevation changes. The sessions were held in completely rainy weather conditions, and the registration of 7 accidents during the day clearly showed how risky the conditions were. Drivers included in the "junior pilot" programs of well-known teams such as McLaren, Red Bull and Van Amersfoort Racing also participated in the tests.
Although accidents and technical errors are considered normal for pilots who get behind the wheel of a "Formula-4" for the first time, Davin Jafarov managed to complete the first test day without accidents. In particular, his control of the car in wet track conditions, composure and technical accuracy were positively evaluated by the team management and engineers. It was noted that the maximum speed of Formula 4 cars on a wet track is normally in the range of 195-210 km/h, but Davin Jafarov reached a speed of 224 km/h in these conditions, demonstrating his high level of skill.
Unfortunately, despite this performance, Davin Jafarov is currently deprived of the opportunity to participate in official races due to unresolved sponsorship issues. The young pilot believes that if he finds financial support, he will live up to expectations in "Formula-4", followed by a consistent development path towards "Formula-3", "Formula-2" and "Formula-1".
It should be noted that Davin Jafarov's main goal is to represent Azerbaijan properly and proudly in international motorsport.
