"I'm watching Qarabag's games. The Azerbaijani champion continues to make surprises."
These words were said by Yıldıray Baştürk, a former member of the Turkish national team, who won a bronze medal at the 2002 World Championship as part of the team.
He said that the Aghdam representative is shaking Europe.
"A very good team has been formed. Gurban Gurbanov is a great coach. They have become a surprise for all of Europe by playing good football. Keeping their play-off chances for the last game with an opponent like Liverpool makes the situation difficult. Reaching this stage is really an indicator of great determination and a very important achievement. As for their chances in this match, the Mersyside representative is undoubtedly a very influential team with great experience in the Champions League. Therefore, the meeting will be very difficult. However, if Qarabag can show the performance they have shown so far on the field, they may have a chance to win a point. Of course, for this, it should be a special day for the Azerbaijani club. At the same time, the opponent should not be in good condition either. But why not? Anything is possible in football," he said in his statement to AZERTAC.
Y. Baştürk, who once wore the uniforms of Germany's Bayer (Leverkusen) and England's Blackburn, said that he did not want to single out any particular football player in Qarabag's squad:
"They show exemplary football as a team. Qarabag has a strong team spirit. This is one of the biggest advantages of the Azerbaijani representative."
It should be noted that the Liverpool-Qarabag match will start at 00:00 Baku time on the night of January 28 to 29.
