The UEFA Conference League final, in which "Chelsea" defeated "Betis" 4:1, was memorable for age-related records.
Idman.biz reports that "Betis" head coach Manuel Pellegrini became the oldest head coach to appear in the history of European Cup final matches.
In the game against "Chelsea", the Chilean specialist was 71 years and 254 days old.
With this result, Pellegrini surpassed Raymond Goethals, the head coach of "Marseille", who was 71 years and 231 days old in the 1992/93 Champions League final.
"Chelsea" also achieved an interesting feat in the final. There were no players aged 27 or older in the London club's squad. The oldest player in "Chelsea"'s starting lineup was 26-year-old Marc Cucurella, and those who came on later did not exceed this age limit.
It should be noted that "Chelsea" is only the second team to have no players aged 27 or older in a European Cup final. The first such case occurred in the 1978/79 season: at that time, "Crvena Zvezda" played against "Borussia Mönchengladbach" in the UEFA Cup final with a young squad.
