The construction of a modern international-level stadium is planned in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
İdman.biz reports that the city administration informed the local media about this.
The new facility is planned to be built on an area of approximately 15 hectares. The area where the project will be implemented will become an important transport and logistics hub of the city, which will create convenience for spectators and guests.
It was reported that the new stadium will comply with UEFA category 4 and will be designed for 35,000 spectators.
The project also includes training bases, recreation areas for fans and modern security systems. Construction and installation work is scheduled to begin next year.
The Almaty Central Stadium, built 65 years ago, will also be preserved and reconstructed: at the same time, the arena's athletic infrastructure will also be taken into account.
It should be noted that today the Central Stadium will host the return match of the UEFA Champions League play-off stage "Kayrat" - "Celtic".
