Ahmad told the official website of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation about his performance at the World Blitz Championship that the fight with the American started a little exciting: "The opponent made some mistakes. Then Hikaru tried to find a way out of the situation for a draw. There was some pressure in the game. I must admit that the victory made me happy. It was my first victory over such a strong chess player in my career. I hope it will be continuous. Unfortunately, the "Turkish Airlines" team I played for could not qualify for the 1/8 finals."
He expressed his gratitude to his teammates with whom he performed together in London: "I would like to thank Captain Ozgur Bey and the chess players I played with.
