Tofiq Musayev: "I believe in myself" - INTERVIEW

Tofiq Musayev, the MMA fighter of Azerbaijan and "Gabala", gave an interview to the club's press service.

Idman.biz reports that the athlete, who will debut in the UFC, shared his thoughts on the fight with Kyrgyz Mytkybek Orolbay, which will take place on June 21 at the UFC night in Baku, as well as his preparation and goals.

- How is the preparation for the UFC fight night in Baku going?

- I am preparing for the fight in Thailand. The preparation process is going well. All trainings are going according to plan, as we wanted.

- Your first opponent in the UFC will be Kyrgyz Mytkybek Orolbay. What do you expect from this fight?

- There are no easy opponents in the UFC. The strongest fighters in the world participate here. I believe in myself. I will go out to win the fight. Victory will be with us.

- This match will take place in Baku. How do you feel about the fight being held in our country?

- Of course, I am happy that the UFC is being held in Baku. I will also fight in my homeland in front of my native fans. I am very happy about this. I will have the opportunity to fight with their support. This is a great incentive.

- You will be making your debut in the world's most prestigious fighting organization...

- I will be participating in the UFC for the first time. I have signed a four-fight contract. This is a great success for me. I have fought in many organizations in the CIS and the USA. Like every fighter, my dream was to join the UFC.

- Do you consider yourself to have achieved this dream?

- The UFC was one of my unfinished dreams. I am glad that I signed a contract with this organization as well. To fully achieve my dream, I have to win and represent Azerbaijan properly.

- Is there any clarity on the plans after this fight?

- It is too early to talk about this. We are completely focused on the fight in Baku. We will think about future plans after this tournament.
