Results of the second round of the "Talent selection" tournament announced

The second round of the "Talent Selection" competition among U-17 judo athletes was concluded on March 8. A total of 265 athletes (222 boys, 43 girls) from 64 clubs and sports societies representing different regions of the country tested their strength in the tournament organized at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.

Idman.Biz reports that on the last day of the competition, 134 judokas competed in eight weight categories. The main goal of the tournament is to form a healthy base for the national team, identify promising athletes, and create a sustainable reserve base. According to the regulations, the athletes who take the first four places in the final ranking of the two rounds will be included in a special training program called "Hopes of the Future".

Today, the second round of the "Talent Selection" competition among U-17 judo athletes is coming to an end at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.

Idman.Biz reports that on the last day of the tournament, which started on March 7, young talents took to the tatami to climb to the highest step of the podium.

On the closing day of the competition, 134 judokas are competing for a total of eight sets of medals. In total, 307 athletes (260 boys, 47 girls) from 66 clubs and sports societies are participating in the two-day tournament.

The main goal of the competition is to form a healthy base for the national team and identify promising teenagers. According to the regulations, athletes who are in the first four places in the final ranking of both rounds in weight categories will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" special training program.
