Six Azerbaijani judokas will be among the selected ones at the "Grand Slam" tournament, which will be held in Paris on February 1-2. Sport24.az reports that Murad Fatiyev (90 kg), who has the third starting number in his weight category, will take the highest place among our representatives.
Also, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg), Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg), Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg), Omar Rajabli (81 kg) and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) are among the "selected ones".
These judokas may face lower-ranked opponents in the first fights or start the competition from the second stage.
It should be noted that 11 athletes will participate in the tournament. Huseyn Allahyarov (60 kg), Rashid Elkiyev (66 kg), Vusal Galandarzade (73 kg), Ajdar Baghirov (100 kg) and Kenan Nasibov (+100 kg) will also compete on the tatami in the French capital.
