Idman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that these words were said by Azerbaijani judoka Eljan Hajiyev, who won a silver medal at the World Summer Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, in his statement to journalists.
The athlete, who climbed to the second step of the podium in the ninety kilogram weight category, said that he could not win a gold medal because he lost weight: "There were many competitions during this period. I performed at the world championship a month ago. Then a competition was held in Spain. I lost a lot of weight. Therefore, there was fatigue in the final match today."
He said that he will take revenge on his South Korean opponent Kim Jong-hu, whom he lost to in the final, in the next competitions: "I was facing him for the first time. There will be competitions ahead. I wasn't ready this time. I will take my revenge on him in the next competitions."
It should be noted that Azerbaijan currently has 4 medals in its assets. Before Eljan Hajiyev, the team of group exercises in rhythmic gymnastics won two gold and one silver awards.
