Azerbaijani judoka Davud Namazli (100 kg), who won a silver medal at the European Cup among youth held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, had his most difficult fight against the US athlete in the 1/4 finals.
The judoka gave an interview to "Report" about this.
He also explained the reason for not being able to reach the final:
"My matches went well overall. All of the opponents I defeated before the final were titled, strong athletes. My toughest opponent was the US judoka I faced in the 1/4 finals. We continued until the "Golden Score." The reason I couldn't reach the final was some technical shortcomings."
D. Namazli announced his biggest goals for this year:
"The Universiade is coming up. I will try to turn the silver medal I won here into gold in that competition. My biggest goal this year is to become the winner of the European and World Championships among youth."
It should be noted that 428 judokas from 32 countries competed in the European Cup.
