The individual judo competitions held as part of the III CIS Games ended on October 4. 28 athletes in 16 weight categories competed in the tournament organized at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex.
Our team won 21 medals in total, including 5 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze. Gulshan Huseynova (-44 kg), Konul Eyvazli (-48 kg), Narmin Agamirzazade (-52 kg), Zeyd Alasgarov (-60 kg) and Fakhri Sahibzade (-66 kg) became champions.
Sunay Salamova (-40 kg), Nazakat Valiyeva (-57 kg), Mahammadali Husuyev (-55 kg), Royal Gayibov (-60 kg), Huseyn Huseynov (-60 kg), Mahammad Agakishiyev (-81 kg) and Subhan Akhundov (+90 kg) won silver medals.
Bronze medals were added to the assets of our team by Khadija Abdullayeva (-44 kg), Aysun Mammadova (-52 kg), Fidan Jalilli (-70 kg), Zemfira Aliyeva (+70 kg), Anar Guliyev (-50 kg), Ibrahim Talibov (-55 kg), Sadig Mammadov (-73 kg), Nureddin Aliyev (-90 kg) and Tunar Farzaliyev (+90 kg).
With this result, our team finished the individual competitions in second place in the overall team standings, and in first place in the women's competition. It should be noted that 91 judokas (50 boys, 41 girls) representing 6 countries competed in the Games.
Tomorrow, mixed team judo competitions will be held.

Azerbaijani judokas continue their successful performances at the III CIS Games.
