The Azerbaijani national team stood out with its successful performance at the European Junior Judo Cup held in Graz, Austria.
Idman.Biz reports that our team won four more medals on the last day of the tournament. Suleyman Shukurov, competing in the 90 kg weight category, defeated all his opponents and rose to the highest step of the podium.
Aslan Kotsoyev, who competed in the same weight, also finished the competition with a bronze medal. Roman Garayev in 81 kg and Ramazan Ahmadov in 100 kg took third place.
It should be noted that Mahammad Musayev became the champion in the 66 kg weight category on the first day of the competition. Thus, the Azerbaijani national team finished the Graz European Cup with two gold and three bronze medals.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team, which completed the European Cup with two gold and three bronze medals, took second place in the boys' competition among 34 countries, and third place in the overall medal standings.

Azerbaijan's young judoka Mahammad Musayev won a gold medal at the European Junior Cup held in Graz, Austria.

Before the final, Musayev eliminated representatives of Germany, Croatia, Belgium and Hungary from the competition. In the decisive match, he defeated Serbian judoka Marko Jorgic with an ippon and rose to the highest step of the podium.
Our country is represented at the tournament by 26 judokas (16 boys, 10 girls) in 11 weight categories. The team is headed by Rustam Alimli, head coach of the junior men's team, coach Elkhan Rajabli, senior coach of the women's team Sasha Herkenrat-Vimar, and head coach of the junior girls' team Elnur Ismayilov.
676 athletes (420 boys, 256 girls) from 34 countries are competing in the international tournament. Arzu Acalova, a member of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation's panel of judges, an A-category international judge, is also among the representatives of justice in the competition.
With one gold medal in its assets, the Azerbaijani national team ranked first in the medal standings among boys after the first day of the competition, and fifth in the overall standings.
