Woods was arrested for driving under the influence. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods was not under the influence of alcohol. He claimed that changing his cell phone and radio station distracted him, causing him not to notice the car in front of him slowing down. At the police station, Woods took a breathalyzer test, and both samples showed a result of 0.00. However, he refused to give a urine sample. The 50-year-old Woods attributed his condition to taking medication to recover from foot surgeries.
In February 2021, Woods suffered serious leg injuries after a car crash near Los Angeles. He later underwent surgery with a rod inserted into his tibia and screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle. After the emergency procedure, Woods spent three weeks in the hospital. In April 2023, he underwent at least one more surgery related to injuries sustained in the accident.
