US President Donald Trump has reacted to the arrest of American golfer Tiger Woods after a car accident in Florida.
İdman.Biz reports that Woods was previously reported to have been arrested for driving under the influence. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek stated that Woods was not under the influence of alcohol.
"I feel very sorry for him. I know there was an accident, and that's it. He's a very close friend of mine, a wonderful person, but he has some difficulties. I don't want to talk about it," Sky Sports quoted Trump as saying.
It should be noted that 50-year-old Woods tried to associate his condition with using medication to recover from foot surgeries. In February 2021, Woods suffered serious leg injuries in a car accident near Los Angeles. He later underwent surgery with a rod inserted into his tibia and screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle. After emergency surgery, Woods spent three weeks in the hospital. In April 2023, he underwent at least one more surgery related to the injuries he sustained in that accident.
