Four-time world champion and "Red Bull" driver Max Verstappen commented on the sound of the new power unit.
İdman.Biz reports that the unit will be used in the 2026 Formula 1 season.
"I heard the new engine. It's noisy. It sounds very good. Of course, it was just on a test rig, but it's very sharp. I doubt they thought about it when designing the engine, but it sounds very good. It's not a V10, but it's not bad either," - RacingNews365 quotes Verstappen.
As previously reported, "Mercedes" and "Red Bull" have found a way to interpret the regulations allowing them to gain an advantage by using the characteristics of engine tests in static conditions. Sources estimate the potential gain could be up to a tenth of a second per lap.
