The Baku City State Traffic Police Department (BCSTPD) has appealed to road users in connection with the "2025 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix."
Idman.biz reports that drivers are asked not to drive vehicles with a long service life and faulty vehicles at all:
"In order to prevent traffic congestion in the capital in connection with the "2025 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix" to be held in Baku, from September 19 to 21, our citizens coming to the capital from villages and towns adjacent to Baku, as well as from other cities and regions of the republic, are asked to give preference to the use of public transport, and residents of the capital are asked to use private cars as little as possible during the competition, to move to the central part of the city only by public transport, and not to drive vehicles with a long service life and faulty vehicles at all.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that on September 15-16-17, the entry and exit sections of the race track listed below will be free for traffic without stopping and parking from 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning and from 18:00 to 20:00 in the evening.
On September 18, these roads will be open from 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning and from 20:00 to 22:00 in the evening.
Entry points:
- From Salyan highway in the direction of Neftchilar Avenue and Azneft circle;
- From M.Lermontov street in the direction of UN's 50th Anniversary street and Istiglaliyyat street;
- From S.Vurgun street in the direction of U.Hajibeyli street and Bulbul avenue;
- From Bulbul avenue in the direction of Khagani street and Neftchilar avenue;
- From the intersection of Nizami and Pushkin streets in the direction of Khagani street.
Exit points:
- From Neftchilar Avenue in the direction of Baku Sea Port and "Crescent Mall";
- From Istiglaliyyat street in the direction of Azerbaijan avenue;
- From Neftchilar Avenue in the direction of Azneft circle and "Deniz Mall".
The mentioned roads will only be used as a transit corridor. Also, with the exception of emergencies, parking, boarding and alighting passengers are prohibited when transit corridors are open. In addition, the movement of heavy-tonnage trucks and public transport is excluded on these roads."
