The second free practice session of the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix was very successful for the McLaren team. Australian driver Oscar Piastri surpassed everyone in the second practice session in Suzuka, showing the best result.
Idman.Biz reports that Piastri, who finished the first practice in fourth place after his teammate Lando Norris, this time left behind both the Mercedes drivers and Norris. The second McLaren car took place in the ranking after Kimi Antonelli and George Russell. They were followed by the Ferrari duo - Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.

The ranking after the top three was not so clear. Max Verstappen and the Red Bull team continued to suffer from the car's problems. Norris joined the session late because McLaren had to fix a hydraulic leak. Sergio Perez and Gabriel Bortoleto also faced various difficulties.
Arvid Lindblad, whose Racing Bulls car had a gearbox problem, was the only driver who could not complete a competitive lap. Franco Colapinto will be investigated after the session for possibly interfering with Verstappen during the session.
