McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has announced that he will not help his teammate Lando Norris in the fight for the "Formula 1" championship at the Qatar stage.
According to Idman.Biz, the final stage of the season will be held in Qatar on November 28-30.
"We discussed it very briefly and my answer is "no." I'm still tied on points with Verstappen and if everything goes according to my plan, I have a good chance of winning, so yes, we're going to do that.
I think there is still a chance to win the title this year and it has happened a few times before. So I know it's not possible, but I understand that it's a very distant opportunity.
Even if my last two weekends are perfect, I can't just rely on that. I need other things to work in my favor and I'm very aware of that. So the main thing for me is to try to have the best weekends I try to do every time and then see how the others go," GP Blog quotes Piastri as saying.
In the overall standings, Norris leads with 390 points, while Piastri and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen have 366 points.
