The "McLaren" team faces the challenging task of defending its titles this year after winning both the Constructors' Championship and the Drivers' Championship thanks to Lando Norris last season. Team boss Andrea Stella has promised to provide Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri with all the tools they need to extract maximum performance from the MCL40 car.
Idman.Biz reports that the "McLaren" management has highlighted some important points after pre-season testing. Stella said they were satisfied with the reliability of the MCL40 and the new data obtained in each lap.
"We already clearly understand the potential of the car. At this stage, as we enter a new era of Formula 1, we have successfully tested aerodynamics, tires and power unit maximization. We can improve the car's performance a little more every day," Stella emphasized.
According to the new regulations, the serious changes made to the power units have made the drivers' job much more difficult. Stella noted that the role of the pilots is more decisive this season:
"The role of the drivers this season has become even more difficult under the new rules. We will give Lando and Oscar all kinds of support to reach the peak of performance. We will continue to work closely with HPP (High Performance Power Units) on engine control tools so that they can manage the power unit without losing lap time."
