Max Verstappen wins US Grand Prix sprint race

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has won the sprint race of the Formula 1 US Grand Prix.

Report informs that the race is held in Austin, Texas.

Briton George Russell (Mercedes) finished in second place. Carlos Sainz from Williams was third.

Australian Oscar Piastri and British driver Lando Norris (both McLaren), who are first and second in the overall standings respectively, were forced to abandon the sprint race due to an accident on the first lap.

Qualifying (01:00 Baku time) and the main race (23:00) will be held on Sunday.
