Kimi Antonelli, a leading figure in the Formula 1 World Championship, believes that the ADUO (Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities) system introduced this season will give Ferrari a significant advantage.
Idman.Biz reports that this rule, designed to help manufacturers lagging behind their competitors, will allow the Italian team to further improve their engine. Antonelli, a Mercedes driver who won the first three stages of the season, is wary of the rival team's potential.
"I know there will be big changes. The ADUO opportunity given to Ferrari will allow them to develop the engine. Their car is already strong, and if they improve the engine, they can completely close the gap," the 19-year-old pilot emphasized in an interview with Sky Sport.
However, the young driver noted that he is focused on his goals and that his team is also preparing important innovations. He said that although he knows that competitors will often catch up to them, he is confident in his speed and the dynamics within Mercedes.
