Former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen has expressed negative opinions about the championship's new technical regulations.
Idman.Biz reports that Dutch expert Allard Kalff had previously defended the new rules on social media, but later deleted the post. Verstappen commented under that post.
"No, Allard. I've read all your messages. So, if you call Formula 1 racing, you don't understand it at all," Verstappen replied to Kalff.
The new rules have already been criticized by racing drivers. In particular, Verstappen's son, four-time world champion Max Verstappen, compared the situation on the track to "Mario Kart." He noted that the energy-based system makes overtaking artificial: drivers take turns overtaking each other on straight roads, and the race itself loses its natural competitive nature.
