The Indian Grand Prix's return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2027 is in doubt.
According to Idman.Biz, citing the Times of India, despite optimistic statements from local authorities, the parties are still far from reaching an agreement.
Indian Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had previously stated that the government was working on the event's return and hoped the race would be held at the Buddh International Circuit in 2027.
However, sources at Liberty Media note that this timeframe seems unrealistic.
"2027 is very unlikely, but India is an interesting market. Formula 1 has a large fan base here, but we are not close to an agreement yet," the report said.
The Indian Grand Prix was last held in 2013, after which it was removed from the calendar due to tax and bureaucratic issues. German driver Sebastian Vettel won all the races on this track.
