Former Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko considers the 2021 season to be the most difficult year of his career.
According to Idman.Biz, he explained the reasons for this with cars, pilots and intrigues.
"In terms of emotional and political aspects, in general, in terms of everything, 2021 was the most difficult year for me in Formula 1. Mercedes was dominant. Red Bull, which suddenly had a relatively young pilot (Max Verstappen), approached us, and then a number of different difficulties began.
There were collisions on the track: the first happened in Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton's front tire collided with Max's rear tire, and as a result, Verstappen left the track at a speed of more than 300 km/h.
Sometimes the atmosphere on the track was toxic. There was political intrigue everywhere. It was very, very difficult. Then came the final in Abu Dhabi, which was in our favor, partly because we changed tires at the right moment. Losing titles at Mercedes left a deep mark in the memories," said Marko.
