Former Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has responded to criticism from Sergio Perez, the Austrian team's former Mexican driver.
Idman.Biz reports that Marko left the team at the end of last year.
"It's surprising to hear such comments, because you shouldn't forget that Sergio Perez didn't even have a contract. He was actually fired from the team he kept afloat.
I don't know exactly how many races he won, but in 2022 he fought for the title for quite a while. The stagnation he experienced later can be explained by several factors. But I believe that Sergio was able to build his career with us," Speedweek quotes Marko as saying.
