The qualifying round for the Qatar Grand Prix is underway.
Idman.Biz reports that seven-time world champion, British "Ferrari" driver Lewis Hamilton was 18th after the first segment of the first qualifying round.
In the previous stage in Las Vegas, Hamilton also failed to pass the first qualifying round and took the last place.
This makes Hamilton the third driver in recent history to fail to pass the first qualifying round twice in a row. The other two occurred in the 2009 Formula 1 season, when injured Felipe Massa was replaced by Italian Luca Badoer and Giancarlo Fisichella in turn.
