The "Formula-1" Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will be held in Baku next year, will again take place in September.
Idman.Biz reports that during this year's race, it was announced that the contract for holding the "royal races" in Baku until 2030 was extended.
However, no information was provided about whether there would be changes to the track or whether it would cover other streets of the capital. Previously, this issue has been raised several times in the media, especially during the period when news about the extension of the contract was spread. For some time, the possibility of holding a "Formula-1" night race in Baku was also discussed.
In a statement given to Idman.Biz from "Baku City Circuit" Operating Company, it was stated that the configuration of the current city track will not change during the term of the contract. As it is known, the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is planned for September 25–27. It is not yet known whether the race dates will change in the future.
Let us remind you that the winner of the "Formula-1" race held in Baku this year was four-time world champion Max Verstappen. He went down in history as the second pilot to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix twice. Verstappen won his first victory in 2022. The same success was previously achieved by Mexican driver Sergio Perez.
