"Ferrari", "Audi", and "Aston Martin/Honda" have sent a joint letter to the FIA requesting clarification on contentious aspects related to the fuel flow rate limit in the 2026 "Formula 1" regulations.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "The Race".
The letter stems from a suggestion that "Mercedes" and "Red Bull" have found a way to interpret the regulations to gain an advantage through the characteristics of engine testing in static conditions. Sources estimate the potential gain could be up to a tenth of a second per lap.
The FIA previously stated that existing measurement procedures are compliant with the regulations. However, the matter could become a subject of further discussion or even protest at the start of the 2026 season.
