Former "Formula 1" driver and current expert Martin Brundle reacted strongly to the criticism of four-time world champion Max Verstappen regarding the new rules.
Idman.Biz reports that Brundle stated that the Dutch driver is damaging the reputation of the sport by constantly criticizing the new cars planned for 2026.
Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the increased requirements for energy management, hinting that he might end his career at the end of the season. However, Brundle noted that no one is irreplaceable:
"There is no irreplaceable person in this business. I have seen many great people come and go in this sport. And the sport continues. The moment we stop our work, people will start talking about the next person to come."
The expert also emphasized that young talents such as Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Birman can do this job incredibly well for just one percent of the salary Verstappen receives. According to him, Max's departure will not create any gap in the grid, but the Dutch driver is seriously damaging the sport with his current behavior.
