The Azerbaijan Grand Prix in "Formula 1" will be held for another 5 years.
According to Lent.az, the official website of the organization has released information about this.
The Baku City Circuit debuted in the "Formula 1" calendar in 2016 as the European Grand Prix, and since 2017 it has been a permanent stage of the calendar as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Last year's race welcomed fans from more than 70 countries and attracted more than 66 million global television viewers.
With seven different winners in the eight races held so far, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has become one of the most competitive races on the "Formula 1" calendar. Mexican Sergio Perez is the only driver to win twice in Baku. Three of the current drivers – Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri have been able to win in Baku.
The official signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, President of "Formula 1" Stefano Domenicali and CEO of Baku City Circuit Operating Company Magsud Farzullayev.
It should be noted that the current Azerbaijan Grand Prix will end on September 21.
