The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, to be held next year, will be the fourth Formula 1 race held on a Saturday since 2023.
Idman.biz reports that the Baku stage, initially scheduled for Sunday, September 27, has been moved forward by one day due to Memorial Day.
This means that the race will take place on Saturday, September 26.
Races falling on Saturdays in Formula 1 have been very rare in recent years. The Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023 was the first race held on a Saturday since 1985. Last year, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix were held on Saturday due to Ramadan.
The race in Baku will be one of two Grand Prix held on Saturday in 2026. The second such race is the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
