The Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula 1 was memorable for its interesting moments.
Siyavush Aliyev, Deputy Director of "Idman" TV and Formula 1 expert, said this in an interview with "Report".
He spoke about the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula 1, which ended yesterday:
"The interest in the race in our country was extremely high. We witness this every year. However, the last day, when the winner of the race was determined, was not so interesting. The qualifying round on Saturday was more exciting. That day the race was a little longer, accidents happened, and unusual results emerged. Rainy weather made accidents inevitable."
S. Aliyev emphasized the highlights during the race:
"Overall, we witnessed interesting moments. Carlos Sainz took the podium for the first time this year. The "Williams" team hadn't seen the podium for nearly 10 years. However, the winner of the race was not surprising. Because after Max Verstappen's position on Saturday, it did not seem credible that he would lose his advantage. Max is already winning the race in Baku for the second time. When he won in 2022, the car was strong. Although the car was a little weaker this time, he showed his driving skills."
It should be noted that the winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver celebrated victory in Baku for the second time. He also finished the track in first place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2022.
George Russell from "Mercedes" was second, and Carlos Sainz from "Williams" was third. Russell's teammate Andre Kimi Antonelli took fourth place, and Liam Lawson from "Racing Bulls" completed the "top five".
