Marshals of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Formula 1 have started operating.
"Report" informs that the world's fastest pilots will hit the streets of Baku tomorrow, and the most important team for their safety is already ready – the Formula 1 marshals.
This year, approximately 1,500 marshals will participate in the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025, ensuring the safety of the race.
The marshals have departed from the marshals' camps located in the Athletes Village to the track area since this morning. They are already stationed at their posts, preparing for all the situations they may encounter during the race days.
The marshals are divided into various functional groups: fire marshals, flag marshals, track marshals, and other support teams. Each group has its own specific task, but the main goal uniting them all is to create a safe and trouble-free racing atmosphere for fans and pilots.
Today, they walked along the track to familiarize themselves with their posts, received instructions, and conducted preparatory exercises for various scenarios. The role of each marshal is predetermined, and all activities serve to maintain a high level of safety.
Formula 1 marshals operate on a voluntary basis not only in Azerbaijan but all over the world. Most of them join this process with great love and excitement for Formula 1. For many marshals, this is more of a demonstration of dedication and commitment to motorsport than a professional career.
Without the accuracy, discipline, and courage of the marshals, Formula 1 would not be possible. Thanks to their silent labor, pilots compete at high speeds, and fans can watch the excitement of the track in a safe environment.
The Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025 will be held in the central streets of Baku on September 19–21.
