İdman.biz reports with reference to Teleqraf that this was stated to journalists by Kamila Abdullayeva, who participated in the marshal trainings of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1.
She stated that their main task is to ensure safety by standing at certain points on the race track: "I stand in the "grid" (start alignment - ed.) zone, as well as at certain posts on the track. We marshals work closely with the directors and the race management. We have yellow flags in our hands, and in case of any danger - accident, car stopping or obstacle on the track - we wave these flags to warn the drivers. Seeing these signals, the pilots immediately reduce speed and pay attention to the danger. This plays a very important role in preventing further accidents. Our task is to ensure that the race is safe and in accordance with the rules."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on September 19-21.
