Mercedes' 19-year-old driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli shared his impressions of the spectacular victory he achieved at the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.
Idman.Biz reports that the young Italian pilot did not hide that he experienced great tension in the final moments of the race.
He stated that he was proud to have brought Italy back to the top by winning:
"Yesterday I said that I wanted to bring Italy back to the top step of the podium and today we did it. I almost had a heart attack when I locked the tires at the end of the race, but it was still a good race. This is just the beginning, we keep attacking."
Antonelli also specifically noted the skill of his teammate George Russell, emphasizing that he learned a lot from him:
"George is an incredible driver, very strong in every way. You have to make a great effort to beat him. Working with him is a great opportunity for me, I learn a lot from him. I am looking forward to the next races. Let's see what we can achieve in the future."
