Aldo Costa, technical director of "Dallara", spoke about the problems that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton faces at "Ferrari".
Idman.Biz reports about it with reference to FormulaPassion.
"Lewis Hamilton is a true English driver. He has only worked in England before. Like me. As an Italian, I also worked only in Italy for a long time. The first few months were very difficult for Lewis. He had to get used to the new mechanics; they were trying to increase the speed. Lewis is a driver who thrives in a small circle of people he is willing to trust blindly. This includes the race engineer, technical director, chief designer. He needs to feel that these people are working with him, pushing him to victory.
He is a true team leader. He needs to feel comfortable in this role. If Lewis doesn't feel comfortable in this situation, he will lose speed on the track. Hamilton loves the idea of being a hero with the whole team behind him. At "Ferrari", however, he could face difficulties, including a very fast teammate who has been in the team for years and is loved and respected. You have to be very careful with Hamilton. You have to push him gently. He is moving in the right direction," said Aldo Costa.
