The "Sheki Open" international chess festival continues in Sheki.
Idman.biz reports that 260 chess players from 9 countries are participating in the A and B tournaments.
There is a sole leader in the main competition after three rounds. This is Azerbaijani international master Vugar Manafov, who started with three consecutive victories. Six chess players are half a point behind him, including the tournament's rating favorite, Ukrainian Vitali Bernadski, and Khagan Ahmad.
The "Sheki Open" is a stage of the "Chess Tour Azerbaijan", which is held on the initiative of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
The competition will be held in nine rounds according to the Swiss system and will end on June 25.
