The opening ceremony of the "Sheki Open" tournament was held.
According to "Report", referring to the press service of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF), about 300 chess players from 8 countries are participating in the festival.
Chess players compete in groups A and B. In both groups, the competition is organized according to the Swiss system in 9 rounds.
The prize fund of the competition is 23,450 manats. The winner of group A will receive 5,100 manats, and the chess player who takes the first place in group B will earn 1,000 manats.
The festival also includes blitz and rapid tournaments.
It should be noted that the festival is held within the framework of the ACF's "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" project. This is the second competition of the project. The competition will end on June 24.
