The "Sheki Open" International Chess Festival will be held in Sheki.
Idman.biz reports that 339 chess players from 9 countries will participate in the competition.
56 participants will compete in the A tournament, and the rest in the B tournament.
The rating favorite of the A tournament is Azerbaijani grandmaster Eltaj Safarli, the second in the starting list is another Azerbaijani chess player Ahmad Ahmadzade, and the third is Vitaly Bernadsky (Ukraine).
"Sheki Open" is a stage of the "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" held on the initiative of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
It should be noted that the competition, which will start on June 18 and consist of nine rounds according to the Swiss system, will end on June 25.
