The "Sheki Open" international chess festival has concluded in Sheki. Azerbaijani chess player Khagan Ahmad, who scored the most points in Group A with 8 points in 9 rounds, became the winner of the competition.
Idman.biz reports that Ukrainian chess player Vasiliy Bernardskiy, who scored 7 points during the competition, finished the tournament in second place.
Another Azerbaijani chess player, Vugar Manafov, finished third with 6.5 points.
In Group B, our representative Teymur Soltanov won the tournament with 8 points. Yusif Karimli and Huseyn Gurbanov took 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
It should be noted that "Sheki Open" is a stage of the "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" organized by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation. The next competition of the project, the "Shamakhi Open" tournament, will start on June 27.
