Seven Azerbaijani chess players will compete in the "Grand Swiss" tournament, which is part of the championship cycle.
Idman.biz reports that FIDE has announced the final lists of participants who have passed the qualification stage.
In the competition to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from September 3-16, seven Azerbaijani chess players, instead of four as initially planned, will participate. Mahammad Muradli will join Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, and Eltaj Safarli in the open tournament.
Govhar Beydullayeva, Ulviyya Fataliyeva, and Khanim Balajayeva will compete in the women's tournament.
It should be noted that the chess players who take the first two places in the open and women's competitions will qualify for the Candidates Tournament.
