Idman.biz reports that he won the seventh round, bringing his score to 5 points and surpassing Muhammadzohid Suyarov (Uzbekistan) and Yevgeni Romanov (North Macedonia) in additional indicators.
Another Azerbaijani chess player, Shiroglan Talibov, who is in fifth place, is half a point behind them.
It should be noted that a total of 82 chess players are participating in the tournament, which is held according to the Swiss system and will consist of nine rounds.
