Azerbaijani chess player Khazar Babazada has won the "Shamakhi Open" international chess festival.
Idman.biz reports that he defeated Ahmad Ahmadzade in the IX round, bringing his score to seven points.
Vitali Bernadski also finished the competition with the same result after defeating Vugar Manafov. However, the Ukrainian chess player took second place because his additional indicators were behind the leader.
Khagan Ahmad finished "Shamakhi Open" in third place with 6.5 points.
It should be noted that the "Shamakhi Open" was held within the framework of "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
