Eltaj Safarli played rapid chess at the "Grand Prix PlusCity" tournament held in Linz, Austria.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani grandmaster tested his strength in rapid chess after the blitz competition, where he took fourth place.
Safarli scored 7.5 points out of nine games and finished fourth, losing to the silver and bronze medalists only on additional indicators. He was half a point behind the winner, Alexey Sarana (Serbia).
A total of 323 chess players participated in the tournament.
